Train ticket
Chronological One Year Bible Reading Plan: Numbers 31-33
Scripture of the Day: Psalm 46
In the book ‘The Hiding Place‘, author and missionary Corrie ten Boom‘s father asked her when does he give her the ticket when the two of them go to Amsterdam. She then answered him, “Just before we board the train.“ Her father then goes on to explain how our heavenly Father also knows when we are going to need things. Therefore, we should not run ahead of Him.
God does not withhold anything from us which He knows we need. Being our provider, He gives us what we need when we need it. It is not only His provision that is exact. His timing is also perfect. Hence, we should not get ahead of His plans. What He has promised, He will deliver at the right time.
If you do not have a train ticket, you would should surely not be allowed to board the train. However, just like Corrie‘s father who holds on to the ticket for safekeeping until he knows Corrie already needs it, God will give us our train ticket before we board on a new journey in our lives. He wouldn’t leave us empty handed. We just have to trust that in due time, the ticket would be handed out to us.

Reflection: Our Heavenly Father never takes His eyes off you. He sees your circumstances and knows whenever you are in need of anything. Stand firm in faith that He is faithful!
Prayer: You God are my very present help in time of need. Thank you for knowing what I need and providing me with it. Enable me to trust you that I will lack nothing. Amen.
