Winter is almost over. One would notice how the first flower buds already started their way up from a long hibernation beneath the ground. Spring is coming!
One thing that a lot of us fall victim into during season transitions is the huge four letter-word posted in almost every shop, be it online or in person. There are seasonal clearance discounts in the market which make prices an all time low and therefore hard to resist. We therefore a lot of times end up buying stuff we do not really need. Some of these items probably wouldn’t even see the day when we would ever use them.
Such traps happen all the time. However, even though it is something that we already know and experienced from the past years or seasons, we run smack into it and go into the cycle all over again.
In our life, we often bite into obvious traps. We get enticed by cheap bargains thinking we are getting a good deal. We are lured by glorious and convincing advertisements that what we are getting would be amazing for us. However, many times, it isn’t the case.
We are not really getting the value for our „money“. Or in life’s case, our future. The pleasures that we fell for today could very well affect our life in the days ahead. When we fall into the trap of sin, there is always a consequence.
Temptations would always be present. But the Lord gave us a promise that we would not be tempted more than what we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). It means, there’s always a way out. But we need to make a very hard decision beforehand.
A wise thing then would be, to not embrace temptation with open arms! Do not even look at that „sale“! Unless you are sure it’s good for you!

Reflection: What kind of temptation do you often buy into? Have you possibly entered a cycle? There is still a way out!
Prayer: Lord, please strengthen and enable me to resist temptation. If I have ran into a cycle of repeated sin, pull me from it. Help and save me, God. Amen.
