Poiema
Chronological One Year Bible Reading Plan: Job 15-19
Scripture of the Day: Job 12:7-10
When I was a young girl, I and my siblings were given a world atlas by our parents, which I would read practically everyday since the day my mom bought it.
There were several pages I would keep on looking at, and did so for numerous years until I became an adult and finally left home. To some of those pages containing bright and colorful photographs of rolling hills and valleys, I have spoken, “One day, I will see you with my own eyes!“
Gradually, that statement is becoming true! Today, I have visited the Chocolate Hills of Bohol, in the Philippines. The geological formation covered in grass, which turns from green to brown in the summer, consists of over a thousand hills. One could do nothing but be awed by how majestic they look like from the view deck.
Have you ever been to any natural scenic spot and spent long hours just gazing at it? Most of the time, during those instances, I would just be thinking about the greatness of their Creator! If we, looking at the magnificence of nature, could not help but admire them, how much more should we admire and be grateful to the One who intricately and intelligently designed it up to the tiniest detail? Such workmanship! Such poiema!
If nature already shouts its beauty and special design, yet we still prefer to ignore, look away and not believe that it is crafted by someone with enormous power, how else could we even believe the things that are less to non-tangible?

Reflection: The Lord bestowed upon humans the task of being caretakers of His poiema, His workmanship, His creation. Have you been doing your part?
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the works of your hands. You have designed each one to perfectly complement one another. May we do our task to be excellent caretakers of them all. Amen.
