I can still fairly recall how at the age of eight, I wrote my very first short story in English. It was an awkward time because when my relatives came to visit us, my father had them read it. I had been so embarrassed. Today, however, I have understood that to be so-called “parent pride“. The embarrassment did not stop my passion though. From that point onwards, I have penned short stories, poems, scripts, a novel, essays, news articles, songs with no melody, sermons, scientific articles, research grant proposals, theses – most of them unpublished. I have always wanted to put up my own blog site but until now had never had the time to do so.
The internet has become such a powerful tool, more than print media, I would say. For this reason, I have decided to use this platform with the hope of reaching out to people who are otherwise barred from me due to distance. I have lived in three countries, been separated from my family for a total of 11 years and have been living alone (in an apartment all by myself) for eight years.
This utmost independence has allowed me the freedom to explore life and its boundaries – to love and to hurt, to embrace and to let go, to fly and to crawl, to laugh and to cry, to succeed and to bruise! The possibilities are endless.
However, this very same independence has made me all the more dependent on that person I owe my life and being to – God. As much as life offers me its various flavors and spices each and every second I live it, it is my prayer that I could in turn share this array of tastes with you out there who would take time to discover life and its facets with me. Thus, the birth of this blog site.
